Stadium

When we visited the KLM Open, the tournament was played at the Kennemer Golf & Country Club. The Kennemer Golf & Country Club is the oldest ‘links’ golf course in the Netherlands. The track is considered one of the most beautiful courses in the world and is located right behind the sea in a sloping dune landscape and consists of 3 series of 9 holes , namely the A -hole ( the Van Hengel course) , the B – holes ( the Pennink course) and the C -hole ( the Colt course) . These are named respectively after former executive and honorary member Mr S.J.H. van Hengel and the golf architects Frank Pennink and Harry Colt . The various combinations are each difficult and require accuracy .

Review Hospitality Package & Sport Ticket

Hospitality Package

Hospitality Package: Warsteiner Lounge Hospitality
• Warsteiner Lounge access.
• Unlimited drinks package (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
• Walking diner.
• Warsteiner Lounge viewpoint next to the course.

Hospitality Entrance

Due to its location, the parking facilities are located outside the golfcourse premises, from which busess provide transportation to the club. Transportation provided was fast and efficient, however it is sill quite a walk from the drop off point to the hospitality entrance.  Upon arrival at the hospitality entrance, it becomes clear that the ticket collection point for VIP tickets is well organised. There are lots of allocated counters with clear signage and hostesses. From the ticket collection point, you are guided through a walkway with shops and memorabilia before ariving at the VIP village. In our opinion this is too commercial and does not add to the hospitality experience.

Restaurant

The restaurant is located in the Warsteiner Lounge and entitled us to a walking diner as well as a buffet with live cooking. Part of this package is an unlimited drinks package both alcoholic and non alcoholic where Warsteiner beer is served. The quality and variety of the food was very good and mostly freshly prepared. Vegetarian options were rather limited, however vegetarian dishes were prepared when asked for.

Business lounge

Our package entitled us to enter the Warsteiner Lounge, which had a premier second storey location in the VIP village. The lounge is entered via a stairway that leads to a big outside terrace with furniture. From here we had a very good viewing position over the course. This trerrace was well thought of. The Warsteiner Lounge itself was big and well designed with good seating arrangements. A huge Warsteiner bar was strategically placed and ample waiting staff was available. The downside was the lack of toilet facilities which were outside the Warsteiner Lounge, resulting in leaving the lounge and working your way through the VIP village to find a toilet.

The business lounge where Business Outside Seats holders are entitled to, is Club 19 which encomprises the whole main stand below the directors seats and VIP seats. A cosy and relaxed atmoshpere is what you will find here, with large bar facilities and adeaquate seating spaces. The lounge has pitch views making it possible to watch the game from inside the lounge.

Seating

From the Warsteiner Lounge we had a perfect view on the golf course, both inside and outside. There are no allocated business seats or stands for hospitality ticket holders and this could be improved. This being said, the Warsteiner Lounge is very well positioned so unobstructed views are guaranteed.

Good to know

As Flying Blue Elite (Platinum, Gold or Silver) member you can also access the Flying Blue Lounge. Being Flying Blue Elite members, Sportz Guru visted this lounge also and we were disappointed. This was mainly due to the small size, the large number of people present and ”fight” for food.
